Originally, I am from Germany, but I have lived and studied in the UK for almost 5 years now. I have an undergraduate degree in English Literature, where I was awarded a prize for having achieved the highest marks in my year, and a Master’s in Comparative Literature.
As you can tell, languages have been one of my passions for years and as I am approaching my academic career, I want to share this excitement for languages and literatures with you and help you feel confident. Aside from being a native speaker in German and fluent in English, I have learned multiple languages in a classroom-based setting over the years. I have had French at school and university level, and I am still taking classes in Mandarin Chinese. I know what it means to learn a foreign language, both the exciting as well as the challenging parts. These experiences are the very foundation of the way I teach, which is individually tailored to my students’ needs and interests. We can focus on conversational English grammar, but I also have experience in writing applications for universities, cover letters and doing practice interviews. At university level, I teach topics related to World Literature, Postcolonialism and Comparative Literature. Let me know what you want to learn, and I will tailor our lessons specifically to your requests.

Hi! If you are here you are on your way to speaking English and I’m here to help and assist you in your English learning process.
My name is Michael and I am a Conversational English Teacher with 6 years of experience. I specialise in a conversational (speaking-based) method of teaching - meaning it is important for me that you understand that I am not here to teach you rules or grammar but to give you tools, advice and, most importantly - to help you gain confidence and skills to speak English efficiently.
I am well aware of the concerns and needs of people, who decide to sign up for classes like that. In fact, even though I am an English native speaker, I have been learning Polish from the age of 10, so I understand how it is to learn a new language. My classes are open to nationalities from all over the world. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner, who is there to overcome the language barrier, or an intermediate English speaker, who needs to feel more confident and better their skills - I am there for you.
If you're an adult, you should know that I am aware that we decide to make a lot of decisions in different moments of our lives. In my classes there is no space for judgement or criticism - I am there to help you speak.
If you're a teenager or adult looking for help with your child, I can assure you that I have years of experience teaching at schools, summer and winter camps and I have a variety of tools to make the class interesting and engaging.
I teach primarily online, on a video call, but I am open to face-to-face classes in the Cambridge area.
I offer the first class free to evaluate on your skills and discuss the details - drop me an email: ***@*** private message or a text: tel: *** .
Best,
Michael

I have considerable experience teaching in the UK and in various other countries around the world within Africa, Asia and the Caribbean in a variety of subjects from A Level to Key Stage 1. Most of my teaching has been at Key Stages 4 and 5 in Secondary Schools in the UK but I have also taught Primary children in preparation for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 SATs. I am a very passionate educator and believe in the importance of inspiring young people to develop a love of learning. It is so important to use any prior knowledge or experience to help students, whatever age, to understand, question and think about the facts, not just to learn them. I have an excellent track record when it comes to preparing students for exams - whether these be A Level or GCSE exams or Key Stage tests, and although my teaching goes far beyond 'teaching to the test' I do recognise the importance, particularly in a tutoring situation, of doing whatever I can to help young people to reach their full potential and achieve the best grades possible. Whatever your particular requirements, I will be very happy to help and support you to the best of my ability.

I am an English teacher with over 10 years of experience including GCSE, A level and University preparation. I also teach general English proficiency for students whose first language is not English. I currently work at Abbey College Cambridge, currently the best performing GCSE and A Level college in Cambridge. Most recently I have been teaching IELTS and the GCSE language and literature courses (AQA). I have successfully taught 12 clients of varying ages, each with their own specific goals. If exam preparation is what you need, then I specialise in exam techniques and how to ensure that you get the best possible scores for each question. Generally, this entails understanding how to effectively structure a response for the different task requirements. Furthermore, I am a qualified Cambridge ESOL examiner, with in depth knowledge of the Cambridge ESOL exam suite. I also offer proofreading tutorials, successfully proofreading dissertations for students at Columbia University, the University of Warwick and most recently Cambridge University.

I have great experience teaching within the class setting and tutoring, both online and face to face, teaching a whole class, small groups and 1:1. I started my teaching career working as a reception class teacher, teaching 4 year olds, a role with a huge amount of responsibility, providing a nurturing, caring environment whilst also providing a love of learning. Since then I have taught in years 1 to 4, teaching maths, English, science, history, geography, art and personal, social and health care. Due to the covid pandemic and school closures I taught for several months online, teaching the class as a whole, in small groups and some one to one sessions also. Following on from successful tutoring of one family they offered me the position of nanny/tutor and for the past 2 years I have been a nanny for a family of 5 children, teaching the eldest 4 on a daily basis. Due to a chenge in my own family circumstances I am no longer able to offer the overnight and weekend hours that they desire so am seeking a new challenge of online tutoring. I am professional, reliable and passionate about teaching. Tutoring enables lessons to be not only specific to an individual child's needs but also specific to their interests, making learning more interesting and creating an enthusiasm and pride for the child, taking ownership of their achievements. Please do get in touch if you have any questions at all. Thanks, Rebecca.

Hi, my name is Joe. I'm originally from Cambridge in England, but I also have a French background.
I have spent a lot of my 20s travelling and living in new and exciting places. I enjoy meeting new people, as well as learning languages.
I can speak French fluently, however my current passions are improving my Spanish and Russian which I have been learning the last few years. Finally, I love to go the the gym, play sports and hang out with friends.
Having learned languages through trial and error, I'm here to help you overcome the same big obstacles I have overcome when it comes to improving your language skills.
I don't want you to make the same mistakes I made when I was younger. Therefore, my lessons are interactive with the main focus being on you talking and getting the benefits from learning with a native Englishman. What we discuss and focus on is up to you. If it's useful, and even more importantly, interesting to you, that will make the process fun and not tiring.
Positive energy leads to greater progress.
