BCS ACCREDITED QUALIFICATIONS
British Computer Society, The Chartered Institute for IT is a professional body and a learned society that represents those working in the field of information technology and computer science both in the United Kingdom and internationally and is also the awarding body for International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL) accredited qualifications, recognised worldwide.
We are a BCS approved centre for testing and training and we deliver various information technology qualifications (ITQ) online for people of all walks of life. If you need us to deliver these courses on your premises or place of work; please contact us and discuss your needs, and we will endeavour to assist you. Learners in London with no or low digital skills will benefit enormously with an up-to-date EDSQ qualification that reflects the evolving digital landscape. These qualifications are suitable for people of all ages and support the development of key digital skills such as using devices, creating, and editing digital media, using technology to communicate, buying and transacting online, and how to stay safe and secure when using technology. With a BCS professional certification, individuals can take their careers to the next level by sharpening their business focus and develop an understanding on how they can use technology to make a real difference in their progressive organisations. BCS accredited qualifications will also help high school students who want to further improve their chances of securing placement in top universities to continue their higher education as the credits gained from the ICDL accredited qualifications can be transferred toward their degrees. We want to help you to gain an ICDL qualification that is internationally recognised in its own right but in addition has the kudos of being awarded by BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT.
Who benefits from these courses? 1. Organisations with available government funding who want to see their customers fast tracked into employment. 2. Employers who are dedicated to improving their employees, information and communication technology (ICT) skill set. 3. Individuals who want to improve their ICT skills for work, business, further or higher education. 4. School students who want to continue into higher education and use the credits gained from BCS qualification(s) to secure a place with top-ranked international universities.

Excellent references on request. Kind, caring and understanding tutor. Please get in contact if your child needs a boost, is finding school challenging or needs to gain confidence in their learning. All attainment levels- from children working below age related expectations to children who are more able.
Happy to chat through your requirements. As a mother of four, who also uses tutoring for my own children, I understand that tutoring is a significant financial commitment but, through one to one lessons, your child will be able to learn in a highly personalised and safe environment and will thrive.

Hi, i'm Mariyam. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, so I studied to teach children of a primary school age for 3 years at a great university. I have been a qualified teacher since I was 21 and have 8 years in total of teaching experience, including my training years.
Feel free to enquire about other primary school subjects, including History, Geography and RE.
The best part of educating is knowing you're making a difference to a child's learning and helping to set them up for a successful future.

My primary specializaton is helping children gain entrance to their preferred secondary school by tutoring and supporting them to pass the entrance exams. I also tutor mathematics and English for ages 7-13, which is in high demand at the moment due to gaps in knowledge caused by the Covid pandemic. I speak Spanish to C1 level.
I spent 6 years working in all age groups in primary school as well as 5 years working with adults teaching English as a second language. I have had much success teaching mathematics, English, eleven plus and secondary school entrance exams to children aged 7-13. I have a high pass rate aiding children to pass their 11 plus exam.
I am skilled at building pupils’ confidence in themselves and their ability to up-level their knowledge and gain success. I am experienced teaching both CEM and GL style 11 Plus English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
I use a pupil-centred approach and cater lessons to meet the needs of the individual, producing rapid results. I have experience working with special needs children and have a particular understanding of the needs of autistic children.
I am a caring, friendly and approachable tutor, giving quality feedback regarding the educational level of the student and what the next steps are to achieving their targets. I thoroughly enjoy working with pupils and seeing them grow and flourish brings me much satisfaction.

Currently undertaking Masters level research into trauma related dyslexia
Certified Trauma and Mental in Schools Practitioner
Postgraduate Diploma in Assessing for Specific Learning Differences
Postgraduate Certificate in Specialist Dyslexia Teaching
Postgraduate Diploma in Youth and Community Development

My background and journey
Before working for myself I ran a youth work charity in Cumbria for 10 years, and also worked to empower young people to become active with volunteering in their local community. I taught Psychology at GCSE, A-level, Degree and Post Graduate levels. I have also worked within the homeless sector and within the adult education system coordinating learning support in the same role a SENDCO would have in a school.
My areas of expertise are in dyslexia, trauma and mental health, confidence building, motivation and one to one work. My ability to think outside the box when engaging people means that I capture peoples imagination and show them how they can motivate themselves to be successful. My experience in the Army has also honed my self determination and efficiency.
I am dyslexic, although I wasn’t assessed until I was an adult, I always suspected that I viewed the world in a slightly different way to others. I suspect I have elements of other SpLD's too which means that I have to put more effort into everyday life than most people. This means that I can truly empathise with the people I work with.
My adventure with dyslexia has taught me to understand that what I have to offer is unique and valuable because of my dyslexia, not despite my dyslexia! This is what I want to teach to our everyone in our community who is also neurodiverse.
I am also a mum to a very lively and humorous 10 yr boy. As a parent I understand the issues that parents have in trying to get their child's needs met, this coupled with my experience teaching and coordinating learning support which underpins my training as a dyslexia specialist and trauma and mental health practitioner means that I understand how parents and schools can work together to get the best for every child.
The package I offer
Each child has different needs and this is why I deliver bespoke packages to each person. I also include Dyslexia Gold in my packages and support inbetween lessons via an educational app called edmodo which parents can also have a loggin for so they can monitor all contact between me and a student.
If you have any quesstions, please contact me.

My approach to teaching is to make learning fun, meaningful and accessible for all regardless of ability.
I believe every child has the capability to achieve and it is the responsibility of the teacher to bring out the best in their students.
I adopt a child centred approach to teaching. I believe each child is unique so therefore teaching strategies need to be adapted to meet the needs of each child. I have 8 years experience with tutoring students from aged 6-18 years old. I have experience tutoring students with autism, learning difficulties and selective mutism.
I am also a Primary/Secondary school teacher. My specialism is: Primary English and Maths, A level Psychology, GCSE English and Maths.
I can provide range of fun, interactive resources online to support to students.
I use a resource called Microsoft Team which allows video call facility and instant messenger. This allows the student to have access to instant feedback and also virtual face to face lessons. Students also receive online certificates that they can print off at home.

Hello,
I have been a teacher since 2008 when I gained my PGCE, specialising in Early Years (5-11). I then went on to get my Masters in Education. For the last twelve years I have taught over a range of year groups and enjoy the challenge that teaching brings. I have had experience of tutoring Year 5 and 6 children with good results. I love the one to one teaching experience with children and know that I can make a difference to those children needing just a bit more support at this difficult time. I have a further DBS on the update service. Please contact me via my facebook page or call me for more details.
I hope to hear from you soon,
Jo
