As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a specialization in Mathematics, I have been an integral part of the Maths Department in a Secondary school. Over the course of 15 years, I have successfully taught small groups of students, primarily focusing on GCSE level (Foundation) Mathematics. My expertise extends across all age groups, ranging from Year 7 to Year 11.
Throughout my teaching journey, I have also engaged in private tutoring for over 14 years, working closely with individual students. It brings me immense joy to witness my students achieve their academic goals under my guidance and support.
My experience as an HLTA and private tutor has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the GCSE Mathematics curriculum and various effective teaching techniques. I am committed to creating a supportive and conducive learning environment where students can grasp mathematical concepts with confidence. My tutoring approach emphasizes a student-centered methodology, tailoring the learning process to meet each student's unique learning style and needs.
Through my dedication and passion for teaching, I aim to inspire and empower my students, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their academic pursuits. As I continue to contribute to the academic growth of my students, I look forward to making a positive impact on their educational journey.
Tutoring Approach
As an experienced tutor, I adopt a personalized and supportive teaching approach, fostering a relaxed and friendly learning environment. I firmly believe that there is no single "right" way to approach a problem, and I encourage my tutees to explore multiple routes to find the most comprehensible solution. It is crucial to establish a solid foundation of understanding before advancing to more complex concepts, as a weak base can hinder further progress.
For GCSE students, I utilize an 'Example' notebook to aid in their revision process. This notebook serves as a valuable resource for them to revisit and reinforce the concepts covered during our sessions. Additionally, to familiarize them with exam-style questions and the expectations of exam boards, I incorporate relevant exercises to enhance their confidence and performance in examinations.
I am adaptable in my teaching methods, offering both online lessons via Zoom and face-to-face sessions, depending on the tutee's preferences and convenience. This flexibility ensures that students can access my tutoring services in a manner that suits them best.
By employing these strategies and maintaining a professional demeanor, I strive to provide my students with a positive and enriching learning experience that nurtures their academic growth and success.

I am friendly, approachable and enjoy making learning meaningful for pupils. My lessons begin with starting activities to recap the previous learning, identify any misconceptions. Moving onto the main part of the lesson I plan activities promoting fluency in the skill then application to a real-life situation or worded exam-style question. Games and quizzes can be fun and useful in testing rapid recall.
I have been teaching for fifteen years and have taught learners of all abilities, backgrounds and socio-economic circumstances, planning for progression and offering timely feedback. I endeavour to make learning as enjoyable as possible and do my utmost to "make learning stick". I am compassionate and go the extra mile for learners.

During my A-Levels, I tutored students from Year 7 to Year 11. This allowed me to be aware of the latest curriculum of each subject and I understand the importance of this as this is one of the ways to achieve success.
To start with, I use a diagnostic test and then tailor my lessons to suit the students' learning styles. I believe this helps the student to grasp the knowledge quickly and understands it well. I prepare the lesson materials similar to exam-style which is crucial for students to score higher grades. I make quizzes for every lesson to start and end with that tell me about students' prior knowledge as well as what the student has learnt in the lecture so that we can build it up later in revision sessions. Giving out homework to finish in their own time, is another way I use for students to understand the topic well enough.
My aim will be to have an impact on students' lives and change the way they view learning.

Like I said, I've been told that I make students fall in love with the subject I'm teaching and that's the most important thing to me! My name is Lobna F., an international student at the University of Chester studying Business Management. I honestly am very straight forward and honest that's why I'll go ahead and tell you that my profle might seem like I'm not experienced enough, however, If you give me a chance and have your child attend his/her first free lesson with me, you'll see for yourself! I am such a friendly, patient and commited teacher that doesn't mind repeating the same topic over and over again for your child to fully understand it (even if they didn't mention that they don't understand but I feel like there's something off) I do not overload students with homework for the purpose of giving them something to do although, Practice makes Perfect! I can tell you that I've studied with the British system and have achieved the following grades in my IGCSEs, so you don't have to worry about me being an international student. I will most definitely do my best to help your child improve and comprehend.
IGCSE English as a second language -A*
IGCSE Economics -A*
IGCSE Mathematics (both Cambridge and Edexcel) -A*
IGCSE Business Studies -A*
IGCSE French as a foreign language -A
IGCSE ICT -A
Hope you take my profile into consideration:)
