Hello! I am a Mechanical Engineer who achieved A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics. This means i understand the necessary tips and tricks to get those extra marks in exams. Spaced repetition, active recall, and tricks in recognising exam patterns are some of the skills that are proven to be effective.
I break down complex topics in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, into easy and understandable sub-topics.
Lessons can be a thorough run-down of all necessary work to achieve every single mark possible, and/or sharing advanced tips and tricks to tackle exams efficiently. We go through theory, try practice questions, and once the student is confident enough, move onto doing past paper exams. However, these lessons are flexible; teaching is mostly centred around the student's abilities, and at the pace they choose.

Hello, thank you for taking a careful look at my experience. I've taught for many years, many subjects, and in many countries. I've specifically taught preparation courses for the ACT and SAT, the American university entrance exams. I've also taught Chinese students to prepare for their highly competitive mathematics competitions. I've designed special course work, techniques, IEPs, and materials to meet a student's particular and profound learning disability (his mother said that of all the teachers, I made the most progress). My first tutoree came to me with an "F" in university calculus and I got her up to a "B-". I've taught all English levels and mathematical talents to students from all over Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. I know how to ask questions to reveal misconceptions and how to find evidence of understanding. I understand maths anxiety, how teach the approach to a problem and not just how to get an answer. I've written songs to help students remember the quadratic formula and trigonometric functions of which students have testified that they sang in their head while taking the SAT. I've invented games to develop maths concepts that students couldn't stop playing. I've developed coursework on mathematical psychology and game theory as part of a holistic curriculum which fascinated students. I've had years and years of PDs (Professional Development) from many schools in many countries. I'm familiar with the variety pedagogical philosophies and have more specifically given presentations on Deep Learning, Brain Based Learning, and holistic curricula. I have briefly taught in a Montessori school and am familiar with some of those alternative approaches as well. As a mathematician I've independently contributed to many proofs, techniques, an discoveries relating to Pythagorean relationships, Phi, Pi definitions, the complex number plane, analytic geometry, trigonometric identities, and geometric construction, and others. I am currently familiarizing myself with Ofsted standards. Before I've been accountable to US Common Core Standards, and the AERO standards.

Hello!
I am a Physics PhD, I studied at the University of Nottingham and finished 2018, with additional studying at Oxford University (St Catherines College). My research was in MRI Physics and focused on B0 fluctuations resulting from patient motion, and their impact on EPI imaging. During my research i also tutored first year Physics students in Programming (primarily MATLAB).
I have spent the last 5 years in Germany as part of the R&D team for Siemens Healthineers which develop world leading MRI scanners.
I am now looking to help young people with their own education. My tutoring method is generally to build and develop from fundementals rather than fact memorisation.
I can also offer help with University applications, as i worked as a student ambassador for the university as a student.
If you have any specific requests please let me know and i will see what i can do!
Added information:
PhD Physics, University of Nottingham, Thesis: Motion Correction for MRI Using External Tracking Devices
1st Class Masters degree, University of Nottingham, Physics with Medical Physics
A Levels: Maths, Physics, Chemistry

Can tutor in most subjects. I'm a friendly tutor and love working with children. All children learn in different ways with different methods and i adapt my tutoring for each child to make them enjoy the classes and get the most out of the 60 minutes. I've taught ages from 4 all the way up to 24. I graduated from University of Leeds in May 2022, getting a 2:1 in Biology, and have worked as a supply teacher in schools all around Leeds since Janurary. I start my teacher training in september and have worked as supply to gain extra experience. I'm very understanding of different situations and backgrounds children can come from, and adjust teaching materials to fit each individual. I can help with homework and if they need extra help with worksheets i can find some for the right module and topic. I know 4 languages and play loads of sports. I've lived abroad my whole life, so i have an open mind and i'm great at adaptating to new situations. Can find my email under the education section on the right hand side, as it is my work email.

Originally in Mirfield, the K. Centre opened in December 2002. We quickly established an enviable reputation locally as a centre of excellence, not only for helping children who are struggling at school but also for those who are not being challenged and for those preparing for SAT's, GCSE and Grammar School entrance exams (particularly for Heckmondwike and Halifax Grammar Schools). We are conveniently located in Beehive Business Park, just outside the town centre, and have ample free parking available. Judith Shaw is a fully qualified teacher with a passion for helping children of all ages and abilities to achieve their full potential. She has hand picked a team of caring, fully qualified teachers who have a wealth of experience and share her passion for teaching excellence. We are registered with OFSTED on the voluntary part of the childcare register.

Our individually tailored programmes are designed and structured to build your child's confidence in the classroom and boost their level of attainment. We have no gimmicks. We do not advertise 100% pass rates. What we do say, is that once your child joins our centre you will notice a significant academic improvement. We have earned a tremendous reputation for providing quality private education and excellence of service which is second to none in the area. Our qualified teachers are available before/after sessions to discuss areas of concern and progress of your child.
