I have been in the field of education for some years. I was trained for teaching at the Primary Education level, specialising in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the University of Salamanca (Salamanca, Spain). Apart from spending 4 months in two Spanish schools developing my internship.
My focus lies on ensuring that children balance learning with fun in the classroom and building confidence in their own ability, maintaining a positive atmosphere, using creativity and following a communicative and meaningful approach.
As a teacher, I encourage and develop creativity in all children, ensuring each activity allows them to develop their confidence to be independent and active learners, utilising their knowledge and skills in order to achieve their best and learn about the world around them. My aim is to make my teaching as fun and interactive as possible, enabling their school experience to be meaningful, enjoyable and motivating. I celebrate both the successes of the children and the mistakes that form a vital part of a child’s learning as they explore their own talents and abilities. I have been developing a creative, engaging and enabling learning environment, both indoors and outdoors.

I teach English language and music. First, my experience of teaching music. I have extensive experience of working with students at all levels. I have undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in music. I have taught music for the Open University and currently teach music for Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, where my specialty is the history of opera. I am also a senior member of the examinations team for music at the International Baccalaureate Organisation, with particular responsibility for the extended essay in music ( a subject I have written a guide on). My role with IBO involves setting the standard for the extended essay, in consultation with my colleagues, and then leading a team of examiners with the aim of ensuring that the standard is adhered to. I am a trustee of the Society for Music Analysis, the UK's leading learned society for the promotion of the study of music analysis. I have contributed papers to international conferences and founded Theory of Music Ltd a not-for-profit company which provides free and low-cost resources for the study of the history and theory of music. I have extensive experience of teaching online as well as face to face. I am particularly interested in teaching music history and theory.
Second, my experience of teaching English language. I have extensive experience of teaching adult students. I have taught corporate clients for the past 10 years and for the previous 4 years was an IELTS instructor for Aston American University. I taught students online worldwide and helped many students achieve the result they needed in the test. Lessons were usually conducted on zoom or Skype. I also wrote a PTE Academic Test of English course for Aston American. I have published degree level distance learning courses and occasional reviews, e.g. in the Times Higher Education Supplement. I very much enjoy meeting students from different cultures and helping them achieve their goals.

I am an MSc Psychology student having completed my undergraduate degree at Bath Spa University (achieving a 2:1). I have been tutoring for over a year, increasing my student's mark average by three grades. Each student works and learns differently, so I tailor each of my sessions to their learning style to ensure maximum effectiveness. Most of the time, the students are more than capable it is just confidence that is lacking, so being able to sit and chat about a topic helps them understand that they do know what they are talking about.
Having studied psychology for over five years, I have learned that everyone absorbs information in different ways, so being flexible in your teaching style is vital. As a dyslexic, I have learned many strategies to break down topics and linguistic barriers to ensure I understand the material thoroughly. But, most importantly, the key to academic success is confidence; once a student believes in themselves, the sky is the limit.

Passionate and dynamic Guitarist with several years of experience. Gratuated in Classical Guitar; Licensed in Solfeggio, Music History and Classical Harmony. Love teaching music, experienced as private home and school teacher in Italy and Uk. Bringing forth a lifelong passion for performance, dance and music. Adept in making notes come to life through powerful emotional work. My lesson is dynamic and it fixes on your shape and needs, it depends on what you're looking for and which are your limits, that should be the starting point for making them your strong features. Session guitarist is one of my highlights, I've been played with several bands and artists such as DJ Gruff, Gianluca Petrella, Toni Tarantino (prominent names on the European jazz, hip hop and reggae music scene) which could help us to work on that aspect as well if you're thinking about making a powerful live show, for instance. I'm also addicted to composing and producing music, with professional knowledge of Daws, Arrangements, Music Harmony, Stylish Grooves, MIDI interfaces and programming. So, let's arrange a meeting to know each other, understand your necessities and define your own path.
