Wether I'm teaching young learners their ABCs, Junior High School Students their IGCSE ESL, or even turoring older students how to ace their IELTS, I'm your man!
Along with that I can help 17/18+ students by proof reading university letters of application.
Additionally I am perfectly comfortable helping adult learners with their pronunciation, grammar, or whatever it is they require of me. And on the subject of adult learners; academically, I have considerable experience teaching IELTS and am happy to oblige wherever I'm needed.
In terms of pedagogy, I prefer an enjoyable yet productive, student-centred approach. All lessons will be tailored to the student's learning style. There will be absolutely NO boring lectures!
As regards my fees, I offer competitive rates and the first lesson is free.
Also, if you need to contact me, please do use WhatsApp - I am not generally abl to check my Tutor Extra (or indeed, my Gmail) account every day.
Hope to hear from you soon!

In my teaching I aim to adapt to the needs of each pupil. As I get to know them I can find out about their learning style and what motivates them. I can then tailor my teaching and teaching resources accordingly.
I am always encouraging and try and make learning fun with a variety of activities in each lesson. I aim to involve imagination and creativity. This removes the notion of music being correct or incorrect and engages the whole of the pupil in a musical experience.
I regularly play saxophone in a swing band called A Stroke of Genius which raises money for the Stroke Association. I also play flute in a flute quintet and bass guitar in a pop covers band. I love all types of music and love playing with others.

The way my lessons will be conducted will be mostly through revision and practise questions, where the student will provide a topic area, initially I will help re jog their memory of the topic they require help with, then help prepare them for the exam through past paper practise exam questions. By doing this it allows the student to be prepared for most different outcomes possible for their summer exams, thus acquiring them the best grade.
Both my previous two students were taught in person, and I was there to help them prepare for the exams by going through exam questions, allowing them to give it a go then whenever they got stuck, I was there to help them and show them where they went wrong. Where possible, after they had made a mistake or struggled on a question, I gave them a similar question for them to see where they went wrong and how to overcome it.
Achieved a 9 at GCSE level and an A* at A level in maths. Due to recent experience with public exams, I know the pressure students go under and the expectations they may have, my main job is to give them confidence to showcase their true ability that I hope to get the best possible grades, as can be seen by my previous two students.
GCSE level I took AQA and A level Edexcel, thus I am more experienced with those exam boards, however can offer support with most content as long as the syllabuses align with those I have taken. I have a high knowledge of GCSE curriculum for most exam boards, however for A level exam boards often differ more than GCSE, so if you do not take Edexcel at A level, I may have gaps in knowledge. My confident areas of A level maths are pure and mechanics, however I am also skilled with statistics.
I offer mainly online tutoring service, with the aim of interacting the tutee with practise questions and detailed explanation.
Tutoring sessions will often be in the evening on weekdays, however I am flexible to change the session from week to week in order to fit in a session.
There is the possibility of in person tutoring for people who live in leeds (hyde park, headlingly area specifically.)
Please message me before booking a session, my number is 07504901843.
Thank you!

I use Skype for communication and Use online boards to explain the topics. In my lessons, I will likely use a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to engage my students and help them build confidence in their mathematical abilities. This may include breaking down complex concepts into smaller, more manageable parts, providing step-by-step instructions for problem-solving, and offering personalized feedback and guidance The content of my lessons can cover a wide range of mathematical topics, from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus and beyond. I use a combination of text explanations, examples, and practice problems to help students understand and apply key mathematical concepts. The content of my lessons will depend on the needs and goals of your students. You will likely work with my students to assess their current level of understanding and identify areas where they need additional support. From there, I can tailor my lessons to meet the specific needs of each student, whether that involves reviewing core mathematical concepts, practicing problem-solving skills, or preparing for an upcoming exam. My lessons are designed to be interactive and responsive to the student's needs. I can answer questions, provide feedback, and adjust the pace and difficulty level of the lesson to match the student's skill level and learning style. my lessons are focused on helping students build a strong foundation in mathematics and develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their academic pursuits. Whether you are struggling with basic math concepts or need help preparing for an advanced exam, I am here to support you and help you achieve your goals.

After achieving QTS in 1999, I taught in several primary schools for five years, covering all ages (from Nursery to Year 6) and a wide range of abilities (from working towards level 1 up to level 6), in the full range of core and foundation subjects. However, having a predominantly financial/ numerical background, I decided to focus my teaching on mathematics and commenced teaching mathematics in secondary schools from September 2004, covering a wide range of abilities from below NC level 3 to GCSE Higher level.
From May 2007 to August 2019, I was employed by Kip McGrath (Keighley), tutoring students (during evenings and on Saturdays) in Maths (aged 6 to 18 years, at KS1 level up to GCSE Higher level), English (aged 6 to 11 years, at KS1 &2) and in verbal and non-verbal reasoning, in preparation for 11+ High School Entrance Exams. This involved supporting students in small groups working on individual, predominantly computer-based, learning programmes, to enable them to catch-up or improve their skills in specific areas, whilst working towards their personal targets/ goals, e.g. in KS2 SATs, 11+ Entrance Exams or GCSE exams. This experience inspired me to set up my own private tutoring business, which I have been running since April 2014, providing tuition to individual students in maths (aged 7 – 18+), English (ages 7-13), preparing students (aged 9/12) for local High School Entrance Exams and preparing adult learners for Functional Skills exams in both Literacy and Numeracy.
Having studied many courses covering a wide range of disabilities, including ASD, Dyslexia, ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder, I believe I have a good understanding of, and empathy for, students with SEND and SEMH. To this end, I have taught many students with a range of learning difficulties/ barriers to learning and feel that I have made a considerable difference to each student’s enjoyment of mathematics and life-outcomes. I believe that my own enjoyment of learning enables me to encourage and motivate others to successfully engage in the learning process.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I have delivered many lessons via Skype and Zoom and feel that I have become confident and competent in using these platforms for teaching students remotely and would be happy to continue to do so if required.

I have 18-year of experience teaching saxophone, clarinet, theory and composition; moreover, I am also a teacher of the IB curriculum. In addition, I am a professional musician, composer and event organiser with a music PhD and diploma in saxophone.
As an artistic director, I have organised many successful concerts and events to promote contemporary music and received awards from Hong Kong and Ireland. As an educator, I was selected by Quality Education Fund Hong Kong to teach composition in 2014 and was appointed to conduct the wind band at Lutheran Academy. Nevertheless, in 2015 I was nominated to conduct the Open University Hong Kong orchestra and employed by The Chinese University of Hong Kong School of Continuing and Professional Studies as a part-time saxophone lecturer. Finally, as a composer, my musical works have been awarded three times from Sound Imagination and selected in Up-close with music Ireland and ICF winter music festival 2015.
My students have also received different prizes in competitions, such as the Golden key composition competition and Hong Kong Music Festival in Saxophone. Furthermore, as a musician with a global view, I can speak fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese; therefore, l can fulfil the need of students with different languages.
Education is different from teaching or providing instruction; education is about stimulating curiosity; therefore, asking questions is essential.
On composition teaching: I believe that using a story to start with can help us establish the structure and develop the compositions. However, innovative ideas provide the fundamental source of our works. In addition to the ideas, basic training is essential, such as analysis, which helps us understand composing. To me, education is about a journey of asking questions and finding explanations.
On musical instrument teaching: To learn how to learn is the way of my education, and I believe this is an essential skill to develop techniques. Teaching students to notice what mistake they may commit or what kind of wrong postures they make during their practice is crucial. Because the longer they practice, the bigger the error will become. That is why, as a music educator, we should avoid this from happening.
