Former teacher of Science of 11 years. Currently been tutoring for 10 years across triple science, combined science and maths. I’ve tutored over 30 students across the last 10 years with all students gaining their target or exceeding.
Upon enquiring, I can provide reviews from parents from previous tutees.
For science, I have created an extensive spreadsheet on every single exam taken since 2018 which comprehensively provides a breakdown of topics and likelyhood of those topics appearing. The link is available above. I use this information to provide specific tutoring which isn't provided by other tutors and especially schools.
I have tutored 30+ students with SEN needs such as ADHD, ASD and Dyslexia. I also have experience in working with students that have anxiety. I already have some existing training in SEN needs as I have worked a volunteer tutor supporting students in their core subjects. I have helped SEN students achieve A grades across a range of subjects including maths and English at KS3 and GCSE level.
I can deliver interactive and accessible lessons that encourage students to gain confidence across all areas of their learning, beyond the core subjects such as Maths and English.
I will ensure that the students wellbeing is at the centre of my teaching and their learning experience.

I have experience teaching both online and face to face for GCSE and A level Biology. I like to tailor lessons to the student and their learning needs- I can suggest topics but I am equally happy to be guided by them if there is something they want to cover. I like to involve the student in the learning process. I will start off by asking students to tell me what they know before building on it, this way i can focus more on what the student doesn't already know or understand. I take a patient and understanding approach with students to help them feel relaxed in sessions.
What lessons are like is variable. For topics that may be new for the student, I would spend most of the lesson teaching them the subject matter. For topics that they may know a bit, I can test their understanding or can help with practice questions. If it's closer to exam time, then either going over past papers in the lesson, or if they attempt one in their own time then I can go over anything they didn't understand, or help them revise any subject that they want to at the time. Overall I think this tailored approach helps students feel like their lessons are useful and hopefully they can enjoy them too!

I specialise in working with students on a 1-on-1 basis, easing and tackling individual areas of difficulty at their appropriate pace – something that can be difficult to receive in the standard school environment. My teaching approach is adaptive upon students’ own learning attitude, thus, presenting resources in various ways. I am a fully qualified (QTS) secondary teacher of Biology with 9 years experience working in mainstream schools and I have been tutoring for the last 5 years. I have tutored GCSE and A level biology following the OCR and AQA specifications. I am passionate about my subject and provide a range of reources from past exam questions, experimental methods, animations and text books to enable students to fully understand the subject and for them to achieve thier best. I work on the basis of the students informing me what they would like to revise, go over or learn and plan acordingly for the following session, i can also help with homework set by the class teacher.
