Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

I have been tutoring for over two decades outside my day job as an Actuary.
In A level Mathematics I got the highest mark in the England and Wales (100%) so know what it takes to reach the top.
However, I don't just focus on those with an aptitude for mathematics but also those who are struggling and want to reach next level. I helped SEN students as well as those who wish to get ahead of their peers.
I have helped adults get into higher education as well as a young year 4 maths prodigy excel through to year 8 maths work.
Online or in-person both work with the latter being my preference. I live in Leicester LE3 but can drive to you if reasonable. I cover all Key Stages up to and including GCSE.

I love to work with kids and have previosly tutored both my younger brothers and a few family frieds aswell so i am experienced aswell as that i have also reseived excelents on my S. A. Ts and am predicted to get all 9s and 8s in my gsces have already gotten five grade 9s and 2 grade 8s in my mocks. One of which being a grade 9 on my maths gcse. I have always loved maths and have wanted to share my love for it eversince i started it but i know that it is not as easy for some and am willing to help your child shine and learn to love maths as much as i do.

My teaching style is primarily centred on class engagement. I adapt my teaching style in order to cater for everyone and make the material as interesting as possible. I like to use group exercises, colorful PowerPoint slides and even videos where possible

I want to teach because I’m passionate about helping others grow and reach their potential. There's something incredibly rewarding about guiding students through challenges, sparking their curiosity, and watching their confidence build over time. Teaching allows me to make a lasting impact, not just academically, but personally—encouraging critical thinking, resilience, and a love for learning that can carry them far beyond the classroom. In addition, having achieved a 9 in mathematics I believe that my strategies do indeed work and have proven their success.
What a typical lesson entails:
Start- Synoptic Retrieval- Revision going over everything covered in previous lessons and also at school to ensure that the student is up to date with content
Middle- Teaching and learning- Learning content typically one point on the specification that the student struggles with
End- Practice Questions to ensure that student completely understands the topic and is prepared for the exam.
Experienced in online tutoring for maths and physics from GCSE up to A Level. Qualified as a commercial pilot and mechanical engineer, I have been tutoring alongside my studies for 2 years.
Whatever your goals, I am prepared to listen attentively to your needs. My number one priority is to get you confident in any topic by building up your skills and knowledge, even from scratch if needed.
I am very patient so we can go through anything as many times as you need and I will ensure you will feel comfortable asking absolutely any question.
I have been teaching since 2006 as a Primary School Teacher and have been very fortunate and lucky to have worked at a range of schools.
I have taught in outstanding schools, that have been satisfactory or required improvement and faith schools. I have taught as a classroom teacher in KS1 and KS2. I have experience of both phonics assessment and SATS experience. The bulk of my career has been teaching in London schools and more recently I have taught in schools in Leicestershire, Derby and Nottingham. In all schools I have worked in, my lessons have been judged ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’.
It has been a valuable teaching experience which has certainly shaped my professional outlook and provided me with a rich insight into what you can achieve with children. This has allowed me to to develop into a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated teacher. I am able to plan, assess, reflect and adapt my teaching to ensure that all children have a challenging and enjoyable experience and make excellent progress.
Lesson observations of my teaching have highlight how children are enthusiastic, engaged, eager to learn and are confident when attempting tasks. Tasks are differentiated for all abilities and especially the higher ability who need to be stretched continually. I encourage children to become independent by trying their best, keep trying and never give up. I have found children to have become resilient and not afraid of tackling new concepts or new challenges.

I am a fully qualified, CRB/DBS checked secondary school teacher with many years of experience teaching and tutoring maths (up to higher level GCSE) and business studies(to A-level). Most of my teaching has been in independent schools where standards and expectations for achievement are high, and I take great pride in helping students achieve their full potential. I have a patient, friendly approach to tutoring which has been very successful over the years and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion for maths and business studies.

Please note that my rates are negotiable but start from £25 per hour per student for GCSE and £30 an hour for A-level, based on one student coming to my house. If you live within a 15 minute drive of my house my typical rate is £25-£30 (GSSE) or £30-35 (A-Level) if I travel to you .However, if there are 2 or more students the rate per student can be reduced (eg I currently tutor two students together and charge £40 for an hour, which equates to £20 per student)
