Hi! My name is Katy and in September I will be going to Durham University to study Law.
I excelled in both subjuects of English Lit and Psychologyduring my A- levels so I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and help others feel confident in them too.
I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed (we’ve all been there!), so my sessions are relaxed, friendly, and tailored to how you learn best. I like to focus particularly on mark schemes, past papers and how to tackle questions as well as methods in order to learn content. My goal is to make learning less stressful and more enjoyable :)
I understand what it's like to be given so much content and information during lessons so my lessons will be tailored towards A* content.

Having worked with such a range of students in different subjects, I've had plenty of time to refine my tutoring style and approach. In our first session (which is free by the way) I want to achieve 2 things; firstly I want to get to know you as a student. What are you struggling with? What approach would work best for you? How can we be as time-efficient as possible? Secondly, I want you to see how I teach so you know what to expect. Once we have those goals ticked off, we can plan ahead for our next sessions. I like for my students to let me know ahead of time what they would like to cover, but I also understand that sometimes things come up and the plan changes. I also keep a focus on exam technique, it's so easy to know the content but be missing the application part so I ensure to build exam skills into each session. I am also always happy for you to send me any practice questions you have done so I can mark them and we can go over feedback in the session.
I am a Master of Pharmacy and full time professional specialist tutor in the sciences, with extensive experience teaching GCSE, A-level and Undergraduate students (both online and face to face). I have a highly specialised knowledge base which assists greatly with refining exam technique for students and improving their application of knowledge to various exam question scenarios. I have a really relaxed and positive approach towards teaching which centres around elevating confidence and results in significantly improved performance.
