Hello! My name is Maisie and I'm an English specialist in the UK! I have been tutoring for many years now, and have coached students from KS2 all the way up to A-Level ages. I have also taught adults to speak, write and read in English, and assuredly also offer these services-- though the majority of my clients are children (and their guardians/parents by association). If I was to pin down one thing that I always hear from my students, it is that they 'actually enjoy my lesson', and you can't blame them for the honesty! Very rarely do we get a tutor when we're doing great and have no insecurities or concerns about a subject, and when we struggle to do something, we struggle to enjoy it. I believe that it is my role as a tutor and teacher to inspire my students, and ensure that they have a good time so that they are productive and retain as much as the taught content, whilst realising the beauty of learning. To this day, I have never had a student that I have not been able to teach, or that hasn't had fun during their course with me. One of the main reasons for this is the amount of detail that I put in to make sure that a pupil has knowledge in all nooks, crannies and corners of the curriculum that I have created especially for them after a casual chat to find out their weaknesses, strengths and areas with room for extra improvement. Each lesson is made for you, it's what tutoring is and should be.

Former teacher of Science of 11 years. Currently been tutoring for 10 years across triple science, combined science and maths. I’ve tutored over 30 students across the last 10 years with all students gaining their target or exceeding.
Upon enquiring, I can provide reviews from parents from previous tutees.
For science, I have created an extensive spreadsheet on every single exam taken since 2018 which comprehensively provides a breakdown of topics and likelyhood of those topics appearing. The link is available above. I use this information to provide specific tutoring which isn't provided by other tutors and especially schools.

I have taught Chemistry at a large Leicestershire 14-18 School for over 30 years. I have been Head of Chemistry at this school for 20 years. I teach AQA GCSE Chemistry and AQA A-Level Chemistry. I have also taught Nuffield A-Level Chemistry. I have tutored AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR and OCR(Salters) A-Level Chemistry and AQA and OCR GCSE Chemistry. I have tutored students outside of school for 26 years with much success. Many of my A-level students have achieved 100% in A-level Chemistry modules and I have tutored many GCSE students who have achieved 100% in all their GCSE modules for GCSE Chemistry. I am also a Principal Examiner for IGCSE Chemistry. I have marked both Foundation and Higher IGCSE Chemistry papers. I have been an Examiner for Singapore A-level Chemistry. Both these roles have helped me to recognise the difficulties that students have with both GCSE and A-level examination questions and the way to answer them successfully. I use this knowledge to the students advantage in my lessons. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime which works really well. I have had many students who have gone on to study medicine and other medical degrees. I also write multiple choice GCSE Chemistry questions for an exam board.
My approach is variable depending on the ability of the student and what they are struggling on at the time. However I believe that the practicing of past paper questions is vital for examination success. It is the attention to detail which counts in an examination and I make sure all of my students know everything in the syllabus and have practiced lots of different styles of examination question. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime usually texting, emailing or messaging students examination practice questions which works really well. At the moment all my tutoring is online. Please get in touch with me if you are interested. It is a very successful way of tutoring.
I tutor students from all over the world. As well as tutoring many students in the UK at the moment I tutor students in Dubai, India, Italy, Australia and New Zealand.

I have been tutoring for over two decades outside my day job as an Actuary.
In A level Mathematics I got the highest mark in the England and Wales (100%) so know what it takes to reach the top.
However, I don't just focus on those with an aptitude for mathematics but also those who are struggling and want to reach next level. I helped SEN students as well as those who wish to get ahead of their peers.
I have helped adults get into higher education as well as a young year 4 maths prodigy excel through to year 8 maths work.
Online or in-person both work with the latter being my preference. I live in Leicester LE3 but can drive to you if reasonable. I cover all Key Stages up to and including GCSE.
I offer a sibling discount if they attend the same session and if anyone is struggling to pay please speak to me to see how I can help.

I quickly build rapport with pupils and work out gaps in their learning and the best possible way to teach them what they need to know. My pupils range from year 1 pupils who need support with letter formation and phonics to students preparing for their English GCSEs. I love what I do and this motivates my students. They also grow in terms of confidence and independence too!
I work with pupils of all abilities and needs but have particular experience with SEMH children, neurodiverse children and those with literacy difficulties such as dyslexia.

I have been a part-time tutor for four years. My personality and qualities fit complementary to tutoring, developing others’ potential by sharing mine. I have assisted and tutored young students from simple intervention sessions (helping young children develop their English & Maths skills) and GCSE & A-Level students towards exams and entrance exams, bringing success into the study community.
MECHANICAL & AEROSPACE Engineering support For University students is also available"
I specialise in working with students on a 1-on-1 basis, easing and tackling individual areas of difficulty at their appropriate pace – something that can be difficult to receive in the standard school environment. My teaching approach is adaptive upon students’ own learning attitude, thus, presenting resources in various ways. It is focused on fostering a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of a topic, before applying that knowledge to solving questionnaires. I also specially aid with exam preparation to share my own unique methods of working and exam techniques/tips. Ultimately, I aim to develop one’s self-esteem and perseverance to fulfil their own aspirations.
I have taught a wide age group from 5 to 24, which my past tutor sessions were based on creativity of my hobbies such as art, which always worked absolutely well since when I was a GCSE student.
I have many experiences working with children, especially with spending my work experience as an assistant in a primary school class, I was able to interact and deal with various situations to keep the children calm, focused and motivated. As a school tutor, I utilised my organisational skills to collect resources and investigated various methods of teaching to find the most efficient way to deliver difficult contents, suiting the students’ own learning attitude appropriately. I evolved my communication competency whilst discovering the students’ difficulty and preferred revision methods, also.
I am someone who has academically succeeded highly through UK national curriculum. I have passion towards mathematics thus, I have participated and have been awarded many times for UKMT, and moreover, for Chemistry and Physics Olympiad challenges as Gold and Bronze respectively. I held responsibility as a School Ambassador and School tutoring, volunteered to be a Reader Leader who helps those who struggle reading and understanding the story with success. I aid in writing model answers for GCSE & A-Level exam questions as well. Not only am I self-disciplined and persevered but I enjoy hobbies that are based on creativity: DIY craft and art, piano, dancing, sport, ballet, balancing my work and leisure. I am also fluent in English and relatively fluent in Korean with a basic level of French language. My experiences in life, living in various different countries allowed me to interact and adapt into many different societies, overcoming many barriers. Hence, I am very approachable and developed lots of life skills.
Not only have I built responsibilities and punctuality and polished my competencies. For those who I mentor have developed their own self-esteem, confidence and perseverance to fulfil their own aspirations.

Other students sucess:
Getting 3/4 jumped to 6/7 for GCSE, D to B for A level, Help students get into oxbridge, imperial, UCL and medicine, as well as helped other students learn 1-3 years ahead making them top in their year! You can be next! I also help home schooling kids to provide better, personalised and faster education than school.
I believe I have a strong educational background. I received 75% first class for biomedical sciences in UCL. I have received 8A*, 3As and B for my GCSE and I got an A for physics and I graduated with A*A*A* for Maths, Chemistry and biology for A level. Throughout my secondary school, I have been nominated several times as the top in the year for several subjects like Maths, Chemistry and Physics. I have also contributed to Maths and Biology Olympiad achieving silver for both. I have also written model answers for PMT Education last month thus GCSE – A level contents for Maths and Sciences for various UK examboards thus I am very knowledgeable with different examboard styles and contents.
I have good organisation skills: I always plan and prepare resources to provide the best learning experience for the students. I try to be friendly, patient and become an active listener. Also, I am usually very interactive with students to build their problem-solving skills. I can personalise the teaching style to fit each student’s different learning style and pace of learning. I have tutored students (age 6-18) for 5 years for mainly maths, sciences and piano but I have tutored English before up to GCSE level. I have also helped A level students with their university admission for medicine/science courses + Oxbridge. I did remote teaching during the Covid pandemic thus I am comfortable and knowledgeable at using online platforms and I usually tutor with an iPad as well. I like taking new challenges. I always enjoyed taking new roles during study (such as Course Rep and student quality reviewer) and learning new skills (such as how to use photoshop, procreate and solidworks). Hence I believe I would take on the challenge well with my hardworking and positive attitude. I am also available immediately thus able to start the lesson as soon as possible.

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated tutor, currently finishing my Master's Degree in Computational Neuroscience, Cognition & AI at the University of Nottingham. My academic journey, anchored by a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate connections between Neuroscience, Cognition, and Artificial Intelligence, shaping the trajectory of my educational pursuits.
Additionally, I have had the privilege of serving as a tutor to numerous students for over 6 years, facing the challenges inherent in subjects like GCSE Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Maths, as well as A-Level Chemistry & Biology. My tutoring philosophy is distinguished by a steadfast commitment to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. To this end, I leverage innovative tools, including online whiteboards and past papers, and complement these resources such as detailed step-by-step guides, often resulting in extremely positive outcomes with pupils sitting summer exams, be it A-Levels or GCSEs.
While the pursuit of academic excellence remains a focal point, my overarching goal transcends examinations. I am dedicated to instilling a profound understanding of the subjects, and empowering my students to not only excel in their studies but also apply their knowledge in a range of facets of life, including their future careers. I do this partially by drawing inspiration from my background in Neuroscience, as I always aim to integrate neuroscience-backed methods into my teaching practices. Such methodologies not only optimise information retention but also contribute to the ongoing development of cognitive skills, fostering a continuous process of intellectual growth.
Aside from academics, I am an avid reader, keen Badminton player and love to travel! I love to share experiences with students, as it creates a bond with them, and gives them space to be able to feel relaxed, and wanting to contribute themselves during lessons too. This to me, is pivotal in any learning process.
I firmly believe in the transformative power of education and aspire to be more than just a tutor; I aim to be a catalyst for academic achievement and the cultivation of skills that extend far beyond the confines of the classroom. Through a blend of passion, innovation, and personalised attention, I want to provide my students with a comprehensive educational experience, equipping them for success in academia and beyond.
