Check out my great reviews!
Is maths a mystery? Do you wish you understood ‘why’ as well as ‘how’? If you ask a question, does your teacher give the same explanation again and again? It doesn’t have to be that way. My methods really work; my students increase their mathematical abilities and confidence, and can explain what they’re doing. Some are so excited after my lessons that they can`t wait to tell their parents all about it! Do you wish your child was so inspired by their teacher that they voluntarily did extra maths in order to improve?
If your child has had a difficult time with maths at school, or perhaps you`ve tried other tutors and been disappointed, fear not, there is a better way. Follow other parents who have noticed their child leave my lessons with a grin, and a bounce in their step, follow other students who have messaged me after exams to tell me that there was so much they could do! This way works; maths doesn`t have to be a mystery.
I'm a qualified teacher with 12 years experience of teaching in schools and as a private tutor. I cover all secondary maths, including the IB and all A-level boards. You can find reviews on my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550861671606) and more reviews on this page https://www.tutorhunt.com/users/mrstreen/.
In the first lesson, I`ll ask lots of questions to get a picture of what my new student can and can`t yet do, and more importantly, what they understand. I`ll then use that to build a programme for the next few weeks, including any topics that they would like to work on. Often I point out weaknesses that my students haven`t noticed or haven`t realised are holding them back; once we fix these, progress is visible and can be quick.
My planning is completely flexible and is built around my student’s progress and needs, and I use a variety of resources so that we can explore topics in different ways. I am patient and used to explaining concepts in several different ways to find the way that works for each individual. I don’t teach tricks (unless you want me to), I focus on helping students to understand.
What online lessons require and involve
Having online lessons is often something students haven’t considered or perhaps feel daunted by. I’ve taught a number of students online, some exclusively so and some when convenient e.g. when they or I went on holiday. Online lessons also allow me to be more flexible over timings and to offer a lower rate since no travel is involved.
Has your child ever been so excited by their maths lessons that they asked to have one while away on holiday? My students have!
Online lessons require a computer, not necessarily a laptop, internet access and a quiet room.
I carry out lessons on Bitpaper, an online free whiteboard. If students sign up for an account, they can save that whiteboard and come back to it whenever they want. Thus they have ready-made notes after each lesson.
My students can opt to have cameras on or not; I am always happy to follow my students’ lead on this. I know some people prefer to work unseen whereas others like being able to look at my face as we discuss topics. What matters is that my students are comfortable.
I set homework on another website, also free to use, that marks work for me and the student and allows me to focus on giving feedback and correcting misconceptions.
Online tutoring greatly increases your choice of tutors. Why not contact me today and tell me what it is you would like to achieve?

I have had huge success with all of my online students, exceeding their predictions by 2 grades and others choosing to take the language for A level following my GCSE tutoring, after previously not feeling brave enough to.
I can tutor online via Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.

I cover:
Acting through song, improvisation, screen acting, micro-expressions, monologue work, script analysis, audition preparation, exam preparation, Meisner Technique, Stanislavski Technique
I have trained in acting for 10 years, singing for 9 years and dance for 8 years, my primary style being Ballroom and Latin, followed closely by Musical Theatre. Please contact me with any questions.
I'm a young adult who is currently navigating my way through the screen acting realm.
I had 1-2-1 acting training for 8 years completing many LAMDA exams, but have been acting for 10 years. Amongst this, I began private singing lessons 9 years ago, focusing on musical theatre and classical repertoire. Not only this, 8 years ago I began Ballroom and Latin dance classes and I now compete nationally as well as teaching . I guess you could say I'm a bit of an old soul!
Overall I just adore helping others achieve their full potential, and ensuring that they feel confident within themselves.

I am a qualified teacher, and spent 6 years in the classroom, 5 of which were as a Head of Department. I have a passion for helping others to succeed, and understand that my success and - more importantly - that of my students are fully aligned. I take a positive approach to tuition, always looking to relate difficult concepts to real world scenarios to bring them to life and show how they can be applied. I also have a decade of industry experience in professional services which allows me to provide real world examples to problems and questions.
I have been tutoring since my university days in 2006, and have a track record of helping students to achieve or exceed their target grades in the GCSE and A- Level exams.
Every student is different with their own learning styles - I adapt to the needs of the individual student. Always taking a positive approach, I work in a collaborative way with students so that they achieve their potential and feel a sense of accomplishment. Sometimes large topics or difficult concepts just need broken down into smaller steps or component parts - by taking each at a time, students will build up their knowledge and develop confidence to tackle any questions by following a methodical approach.
Work with me to build your knowledge, develop in confidence and get ready to smash your exams!

Is your child falling behind in GCSE Spanish? Worried that their Spanish grades are below their other subjects? Unsure what they need to do to get back on track?
I help students get back on track in GCSE Spanish using the most streamlined route, so they can achieve grade 8-9 without feeling overwhelmed. So that they can get the grade they deserve and thrive in education to have options for their future inside or outside of education. I guide students through my tested 5-step methodology to master the skills needed for success in GCSE Spanish and beyond.
My programmes are for you if you are:
- in Year 10 or Year 11 studying GCSE Spanish
- a dedicated student aiming for top grades (8-9)
- feeling frustrated or overwhelmed by Spanish at the moment, and unsure what you need to do to improve your grade
- lacking the necessary support in the classroom
- willing to put in 2 hours a week to work on your Spanish
About Me:
I have an Honours Degree in Spanish & French from the University of Exeter, and a Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics & Second Language Acquisition (aka. how people learn foreign languages) from the University of Oxford.
I have been tutoring and helping students get the top grades in languages for over 5 years now.
I love to see my students grow in confidence, excel in Spanish, and become empowered learners who thrive in education.
I have seen lots of students struggle in GCSE languages, and I strongly believe that the thing that makes the biggest difference to struggling students is having a plan.
You don't have to struggle through on your own. When students are attending lessons and doing their homework but something just isn't clicking and their grades start falling behind their other subjects, they are simply missing the tools they need to be successful in this subject.
Spanish is a skill, and has to be learned differently from other subjects. The longer they try and struggling along on their own, the more catch up they eventually need to do.
I want to help students get through their GCSE years in one piece. So I will find the most streamlined path to success for you, and equip you with the tools you need to access the top grades in Spanish.

I have been teaching Latin, Ancient Greek and Classical Civilisation at a secondary school for the last four years. Prior to this, I tutored primary age children in multiple subjects, including Latin, Ancient Greek and Mathematics. I also tutor Mathematics up to GCSE level and have helped many pupils with different learning styles to understand many different concepts.
I believe in teaching in an enjoyable and memorable manner, but one which also keeps the information fresh in the pupil's memory. A range of teaching styles means that I can adapt to a preferred way of learning. I have completed my PGCE and NQT and therefore am a fully qualified teacher. I would be happy to discuss exactly what would be wanted out of lessons before beginning them, as well as offering the first lesson for free.
